How Enrollment Works
Because our Learning Expeditions are intentionally small, enrollment is a little more personal than simply registering for camp. We want to know something about the young people joining us — and we want families to know what they're saying yes to, too.
Start with the application.
You'll tell us about your kid — their interests, personality, experience with other kids, comfort outdoors, learning style, health or safety considerations, and anything else that will help us know and support them well.
There's a small section for your young person, too. We want to hear from them!
We'll review it.
We're not looking for perfect kids. We welcome strong personalities, different learning styles, kids who ask questions, kids who need encouragement, and kids who sometimes have an off day. We simply need to make sure each young person can safely participate in a small, collaborative group on a working farm.
If we have a question, we'll reach out and talk with you. In the rare case that an Expedition doesn't appear to be the right fit for a young person, we'll let you know before any payment is required.
You're IN!
Once enrollment is confirmed, you'll receive your Welcome Letter with everything you need for the Expedition — dates, times, what to bring, what to wear, arrival and pick-up details, weather expectations and other important logistics.
Reserve your spot.
A $100 deposit officially holds your child's place. The remaining balance is due the day before the Expedition begins.
Get ready to Frolic.
We'll send your Family Handbook and contact information so you know exactly how to reach us about absences, tardies, questions or anything that comes up.
Your kid shows up. We get to know each other. We get outside. We use real tools. We do real work. We solve real problems. We learn things we couldn't have learned without each other.
And the Expedition begins.
